This session will focus on what CF family members are doing to support their loved ones and the CF community as a whole. Panelists will discuss their lives, the ways they’re working with and for the CF community, and how they have found support for themselves. Rebecca Poole and Chad Riedy, adults with CF, will provide live-streamed opening remarks. 

The session will close with a Mission Moment from Southern California Chapter, Los Angeles volunteer, Stacey Armato.

Organizing for Effective Advocacy: Introducing Congressional Captains

Learn what it means to be a CF volunteer advocate and how to create opportunities for others to get involved, ensuring that lawmakers understand the unique needs of people living with CF. In this session, you’ll hear more about the Foundation’s new Congressional Captains program and discuss recent successes from volunteer leaders in its pilot program.

  • Describe the importance of grassroots advocacy to achieve the mission of the Foundation
  • Explain the role the community plays in effective grassroots advocacy
  • Become involved with the new Congressional Captains program

The Volunteer Experience: Engaging & Partnering With the CF Community

Led by members of the National Leadership Council’s Volunteer Engagement Committee, this session will focus on engaging new and prospective volunteers to provide meaningful and rewarding volunteer experiences. Following an overview of a variety of nationally branded volunteer opportunities, participants will have the opportunity to share their volunteer engagement experiences and learn from their peers during table discussions hosted by committee members.

Learning Objectives:
  • Effectively communicate national volunteer engagement opportunities to existing and potential volunteers
  • Identify and recruit volunteers to participate in programs such as Grampions, Community Voice, CF Foundation Cares, advocacy, and chapter boards
  • Partner with chapter leadership to develop recruitment plans and strategies to fill key leadership volunteer roles for national programs and local chapter priorities

Tomorrow's Leaders: Building the Tribe That Will Finish the Fight

  • Explain how members grow and move throughout the Tomorrow's Leaders program
  • Empower young professionals to lead their local program to support and recruit members

Turn Your Passion Into a Fundraiser

60 Strategies for Individual Giving in 60 Minutes

Your peers will cover all aspects of a successful individual giving program, highlighting matches, targeted giving, foundations and grants, and the different ways to make a legacy gift. This session will deliver strategies for every volunteer to add to their fundraising toolkit.

Peer-to-Peer: Building a Culture of Year-Round Stewardship
